Spring has finally arrived and as you start to pack away those winter clothes or spring clean the house, spare some time to update your hair routine and get it ready for the warmer weather. The colder months can be extremely harsh on our hair so it’s important to spend a little time preparing our hair for the changing conditions.

If winter has left you with drier hair or even split ends, then kick off spring with a trim. Not only will it make you feel fabulous after all the colder weather, it will also make your hair healthier and stronger. Regular cuts promote healthier hair, so make sure you deal with those splits ends sooner rather than later, especially if you are trying to grow it.
After all those dark, cold and wet days, lift your mood and your spirits with a fresh new colour. Try adding some lighter tones to your hair if you’re a brunette and for the blondes you could even play around with some of the seasons hot colour tends like soft pinks or strawberry tones.
Frizz can unfortunately be an all year round thing, but the warmer weather can definitely makes it worse. Make sure that are your hair is at least 65% dry before getting out the hair dryer and this will help to minimise the frizz. Start by giving your hair a good gentle towel dry or leaving it in a towel for 15 mins to extract as much extra moisture as possible before starting to style your hair. A good serum will also do wonders.
If you’ve noticed that you’re losing a few more hairs than usual, don’t be too alarmed. Seasonal hair loss in late autumn and early spring is actually quite common. Keeping your hair as healthy as possible is one way to minimise the amount of hair you shed. Since healthy hair begins at the root you need look after your scalp. Consider a cleansing scalp treatment to help keep your whole head healthy.
The onset of Spring means a lot more activities and parties as we all come out of our winter hibernation. Make sure you book your hair appointment well ahead if you have any important functions coming up. You don’t want to feel anything less than fabulous on the night so make sure you lock in those appointments early.
